The UpBeater body board is an all around fun machine, for all wave riders and for any waves.
Why do we call it an "UpBeater"? The "up" comes from the fact that we upcycle foam to make all of our boards. This helps reduce some of the plastic pollution plaguing our planet.
But why "beater"? Well, legend has it that at popular beaches in California when things got crowded, beach patrol would put up yellow flags with black circles that indicated a prohibition of surfing on traditional surfboards (for fear of injury to swimmers). So, some enterprising surfers invented a board that resembled a "boogie" board, with no fins, so they could "beat" the black ball flag and still surf. And the term "beater board" was born.
Our UpBeater body boards are intended to empower everyone to simply go out and enjoy the surf, however, whenever, and wherever.
